Project development wind

Focus on renewable energies

We are one of the leaders in the wind energy sector. Between 2008 and 2025, we built 139 wind turbines in Poland with a total installed capacity of almost 400 MW.

The experience and diverse competences of the PNE Polska team allow us to comprehensively develop and implement wind projects. We analyze location conditions, prepare wind measurements and performance forecasts, and provide other expertise as needed. We apply for a building permit, obtain all necessary permits and consents, and secure financing. We not only prepare optimal construction schedules, but also comprehensively manage the entire process until the wind farm is handed over turnkey: on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standard.

Project development

Strategic site selection for wind farms

One of the most important factors determining the success of a wind farm is the choice of location. We start designing with an in-depth analysis which becomes the base for decisions about greenlighting the project. We carry out detailed spatial analyses, prepare wind measurements and energy production forecasts, provide reports on wind conditions, shadow flicker and noise emissions, and conduct environmental impact assessments.

We make sure to meet the needs of all stakeholders. Landowners, residents, and local authorities often have different needs. We cooperate with all parties involved to find the optimal solution, also during planning procedures.

Financing

Building wind farms with strong financial foundations

Securing financing is a prerequisite for project implementation. This includes a thorough analysis and optimization of construction and operating costs. A solid, competitive financing concept is the pillar of project success.

Our projects benefit from our long-standing cooperation with credit institutions operating worldwide. During the entire project phase, we are responsible for the collaboration with banks and insurance companies and ensure optimum project financing. The profitability calculations and continuous liquidity planning for each and every project are in good hands with us during all planning stages.

Construction management

Building wind farms with precision

During the construction stage, our clients and business partners benefit from the many years of experience of our team. We ensure that all necessary requirements are met in terms of delivery, assembly and commissioning of wind turbines and optimal organization of the construction site. We take full responsibility for construction management, planning and construction of access roads, assembly areas and cable routes, and, if necessary, substations.

We take care of the acceptance of the installation when it is ready for operation. We coordinate cooperation with grid operators, experts, subcontractors, administrative bodies, and landowners.

Our highest priority is to complete the work on time, within budget, and while maintaining the highest technical standards. After the project is completed, the PNE Group's company Energy Consult can take over technical and commercial management and ensure efficient operation of the newly built wind farm.

Repowering

New potential for old wind farms

Dismantling, expansion or further use without subsidies? More and more operators will have to ask themselves this question in the next few years.

One of the possibilities is repowering: a process in which old turbines are replaced by new, more powerful ones. Thanks to advanced technologies, modern wind turbines can generate much more electricity, so that despite reducing their number, the amount of energy produced can be multiplied.

Repowering means creating a completely new project and restarting administrative procedures. Issues of planning and other regulations, taking into account the needs of local communities, the challenges of dismantling old wind turbines, as well as economic aspects - all this makes repowering a very complex task. It requires extensive experience in wind farm design – such as that accumulated by the PNE Group team over 30 years.

Technological advances in wind turbines

Maximizing wind energy with modern turbines

The latest wind projects increasingly consist of larger wind turbines than before: with higher towers and a larger rotor diameter. Such installations are not only more efficient, but also have less impact on the environment.

The selection of the appropriate turbine model must be preceded by detailed site surveys, but in general the rule is that the higher, the stronger the wind. By building higher, we reach for more energy.

Larger turbines must be spaced further apart than previous ones. New technologies therefore allow for far fewer of them to be installed and with greater distances between the turbines. Where previously 25 turbines had to operate, now the same power can be obtained with just 10. With even 800–1200 m between turbines and their smaller number, the impact of the wind farm on the environment is significantly lower.

Modern, more powerful turbines are less audible. Firstly, their rotors rotate more slowly. And because the turbines are higher, the sound source is even twice as far from the ground as in lower models. In turn, greater spacing of the turbines from each other and from buildings reduces the acoustic impact of the farm on the environment. Available technologies also allow for the use of various forms of additional turbine noise reduction.

Benefits for the community

Your good reason for the energy transition

A wind farm consisting of a dozen modern wind turbines with a capacity of approx. 7 MW each will mean tax revenues for the municipality exceeding PLN 2 million per year, which is an important part of the local budget – year after year, for decades of its operation. These are funds for specific investments in education, culture, infrastructure or social welfare.

Taxes do not exhaust the list of benefits. Turbines, photovoltaic farms and their accompanying infrastructure require constant good access not only during construction, but also throughout the entire period of operation. Regardless of the weather or time of year, cars and equipment must be able to reach every point of the power plant. RES installations therefore also mean that the investor will ensure that the roads in the municipality meet the requirements of construction and operation. This will benefit the surrounding landowners as well as the rest of the residents.

The construction of a wind or solar power plant requires good partnership between the municipality and the investor and effective finalization of many complex administrative procedures. Modern wind turbines on the horizon are therefore proof that a given municipality can effectively cooperate with business and is open to investors from other industries as well. RES can therefore become the driving force of development: further investments, more jobs, increasing budget revenues.
